I just found some more footage on my camera roll from last years incredible discovery at my Amethyst mine in outback Australia. These clusters are known as “floater plates” as they have naturally detached from the walls of the cavity and are found laying loose, “floating” in the dirt of crystal pocket. Finds like these are incredibly rare so it is was a bucket list moment for me to experience the awe and magic of revealing these incredible clusters!

Before and After // Here’s a special cluster that I found on the recent dig 🔥 It was almost completely covered in a coating of white calcium carbonate that took many days of soaking and some final air abrasion to remove it….but the end result is SPECTACULAR! What an incredible cluster, straight to the pool room 🤪

As promised here’s a closer look at these incredible Smoky/Citrine crystals from outback Northern Territory. This one has a rich golden citrine base with a strikingly defined smoky Quartz tip. To add to the colour complexity, there’s a thin band of clear Quartz surrounding the core of the crystal.
I’ve never seen such unique and complex colour zoning before 😳
We only managed to find a couple of these so unfortunately don’t have any spares available but I’m excited to get back there again one day for another look!
